  • Dr Wendy Hoddinott (Chair / Landscape Architect)

    BSocSci, MLA, PhD, Reg.NZILA

    Wendy is a Registered Landscape Architect with 16 years experience in professional practice. Her work has ranged from large multi-disciplinary public space projects to small, temporary installations alongside Ōtautahi communities. Her particular interest is working with tamariki.

    Wendy’s PhD research explored the relationship between design expertise and public participation, discovering that the best results occur when people are involved in the same creative, collaborative and mutual learning process as the designer. These findings guide her current practice, where she continues to explore the intersection of design expertise and collaborative design.

  • Tamara Yuill Proctor (Trustee / Educator)

    BA PGDipTchgLn, MA Teaching

    Tam has over 17 years teaching experience from teaching in small area schools through to large city schools. She is passionate about curriculum design and has completed a Master’s in teaching. Tam is currently in the final stages of her Doctorate of Education which focuses on connecting learning across subjects with a ‘concept-based’ curriculum. Currently, Tam leads a Social Science faculty where she teaches History and Social Studies. In the past Tam has taught and led English departments.

    Tam enjoys working with teachers to design programs that integrate values, 21st century skills and subject specific knowledge and skills in an authentic context.

  • Nicki Williams (Trustee / Landscape Architect)

    BBus, MLA Hon, Reg.NZILA

    Nicki is a Registered Landscape Architect and has been working in local government since 2014 finishing her Masters in Landscape Architecture (MLA). She is currently completing a part-time PhD through Otago University on the impact of city planning and design on gender equality. Prior to completing her MLA Nicki worked for 15 years as a chartered accountant and commercial manager in the private sector. 

    Nicki’s current role involves work on a wide range of projects including parks and playgrounds. She is particularly interested in inclusive design and has experience working with groups such as the Disability Advisory Group, Blind and Low Vision, Multi-Cultural Advisory Group, Mana Whenua, local schools, community and residents groups. 

  • Jonny Hall (Trustee / Designer)

    Designer and Maker, Cast Ltd

    Jonny is founder, designer and maker at Cast, a small design/build business that has been at the heart of many co-design projects with communities in the eastern suburbs of Ōtautahi. Jonny was part of the design team working with tamariki as part of Place Cadets at Phillipstown Hub.

    Jonny has also designed and led many other collaborative design projects with Christchurch communities. Projects include the design and construction of Kotahitanga with the Phillipstown Hub community, and Tiny Shops Village in Stanmore Road with Inner City East residents.

  • Rosie Murphy (Designer / Youth Engagement)

    BSc MArch

    Rosie Murphy is an architectural designer, educator and facilitator. Rosie recently moved to Christchurch from London, UK, bringing with her a wealth of experience in youth and community engagement, learning and education in architecture, as well as sustainable, equitable, and inclusive design practice.

    Rosie enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, using her energy and enthusiasm to encourage others to explore their own creativity.

  • Annah Johnstone (Bookkeeper)

    Cert. Bookkeeping, Dip. Accounting.

    Annah is Gather Foundation’s bookkeeper. She has two children at the Christchurch Rudolf Steiner School, where she volunteers her administrative and accounting skills. Annah is passionate about education and empowering children to participate in their communities, so has been really excited to come on board and support Gather's kaupapa.

    Annah can also often be found at The Court Theatre in Christchurch, where she works on the customer experience team.
