An Aotearoa where every child and young person has an impact on the design of their community.
Children have brilliant ideas, but are seldom involved in designing their outdoor places. At Gather Foundation, we invite children to take part in a process typically reserved for design experts.
We believe that co-designing schools, neighbourhood and whānau-centred community environments with children and young people leads to unique, innovative and engaging spaces that are well-used by the families they are intended for.
By co-designing small scale interventions with tamariki and rangatahi, we provide opportunities for children and young people to communicate their ideas about their surroundings. By contributing to society from an early age, our younger generation gain skills and attributes that help them fulfil their potential and create meaningful futures.
